Our internship program is based in Hermanus, a world-renowned whale-watching destination just a short drive from Cape Town. Immerse yourself in a diverse and vibrant community while developing essential teaching skills.

What you can expect:

Get involved with lesson planning, preparation, and delivery:

As a teaching intern, you will assist teachers with various aspects of lesson planning, preparation, and delivery. This includes researching resources, creating lesson plans, organizing materials, supporting classroom management, and providing feedback to students.

You will gain valuable experience in educational practices and develop essential skills for a future career in teaching.

Help manage classrooms and conduct supervision:

You will support classroom management and student supervision. This includes maintaining order, enforcing rules, monitoring student behavior, resolving conflicts, and ensuring student safety.

Administrative tasks:

Support the school’s administrative functions by assisting with tasks such as record-keeping, scheduling, and communication with parents. This will involve maintaining accurate records, coordinating appointments and events, and helping to keep parents informed about their child’s progress.

You will gain valuable experience in administrative procedures and contribute to the overall efficiency of the school.

Get involved with extracurricular ativities:

As a teaching intern, you will have the opportunity to contribute to students’ overall development by supporting extracurricular activities. This could involve assisting with sports teams, participating in arts and cultural programs, organizing events, or mentoring students. You will gain valuable experience in a variety of educational settings and have the chance to connect with students outside of the classroom.

Provide support to students:

Provide individualized support to students who need extra help. You will work with students one-on-one or in small groups to help them understand the curriculum, build their confidence, and achieve their academic goals. You will play a crucial role in helping students succeed and reach their full potential.

Where you will stay

Your home away from home

During your internship, you will stay at the project house located in Hawston, a short distance from Hermanus. The house offers shared and private rooms, along with shared living and dining spaces and a fully equipped kitchen.

Nourished and refreshed

During your stay at the project house, you will receive three meals per day. Breakfast will be self-serve, lunches will be either packed or provided, and dinners will be cooked meals.
