Vervet Monkeys project

Volunteering program in South Africa

Give Orphaned Monkeys a Second Chance at Love. The sanctuary is home to over 500 monkeys, many rescued as orphans, injured, or abused. We provide them with a loving environment where they can heal and thrive. During baby season (November to February), volunteers have a unique opportunity to Bond with adorable baby monkeys as they adjust to their new home. Make a real difference in the lives of primates.

Monkey medical marvels:
  • Help monitor monkey health, administer food supplements, and assist in the sickbay.
Habitat heroes:
  • Clear vegetation for firebreaks to protect the monkeys and their habitat.
Monkey matchmakers:
  • (Mar-Oct) Observe orphan integrations with foster mothers and participate in troop introductions.
Monkey media moguls:
  • Assist with creating videos for YouTube and social media to raise awareness.
Education enrichment:
  • Participate in outreach programs to educate the public about vervet monkeys.
Fundraising force:

Kitchen capers:
  • Help prepare meals and assist the kitchen staff.
Building a brighter future for monkeys:
Volunteer heartbeat:
  • You’re an essential part of the project’s success! Your contributions will directly help monkeys in need.
Construction crew:
