Program highlights:
- Work alongside experienced staff and international volunteers.
- Participate in daily tasks like cleaning cages, preparing food, and enriching animal lives.
- Optional weekend excursions like whale watching and shark cage diving (additional costs may apply).
- Flexible schedule (Monday-Friday, 8:00-4:30) with adjustments based on park needs.
Example of daily schedule:
- 8:00-10:00 AM: Clean cages, prepare and distribute food.
- 10:00-10:30 AM: Break.
- 10:30-12:00 PM: Care for young animals (if available), other park duties.
- 12:00-1:00 PM: Lunch.
- 1:00-4:30 PM: Animal enrichment, documentation, park maintenance, fence checks.
- Team meeting, feedback, and planning for the following days.
Things to consider:
- Be prepared to get dirty and handle raw meat for animal food preparation.
- This program aims to create animal welfare ambassadors who understand the challenges faced in conservation efforts.
This program is ideal for passionate individuals who want to contribute to animal welfare and create lasting memories while doing so.
Accommodation:
- Comfortable shared accommodation in a lodge located right next to the park.
- Owners reside on-site.
- Large garden with a swimming pool for relaxation.
- Accommodates up to 18 volunteers.
Meals:
- Three meals provided weekdays (Monday-Friday): breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
- Self-catering on weekends and days off.
- Meals exclude soft drinks, alcohol, snacks, and other personal preferences.
- Grocery shopping trips to town twice a week.
- Please inform us about any dietary requirements during booking to ensure they can be accommodated.

1. Complete application form and confirm booking details
Complete our simple application form. One of our dedicated travel experts will contact you within 24 hours to discuss your dream South African holiday and confirm your travel preferences. Once we’ve finalized the details, we’ll provide a provisional booking confirmation.
2. Provisional confirmation, invoice, and contract
Once your placement is provisionally confirmed, we’ll send you our invoice and contractual agreement. To secure your booking, please return the completed agreement and make the required deposit payment.
3. Booking confirmation
Upon receipt of your deposit payment and completed contractual agreement, we’ll send you an updated invoice (reflecting your deposit), a confirmation letter detailing your trip details, and a comprehensive volunteering handbook.
We’ll also provide guidelines for booking your flights and any necessary additional transportation during your stay.
4. Balance payment, flights, and insurance
The remaining balance of your invoice is due one month before your arrival. Please send us a copy of your flight details and insurance before you depart.
